Training in any weather
Our 3G all-weather surfaces mean we train through rain, cold and wind — the sessions that build resilient players. But when conditions cross a safety line, we cancel without hesitation, and you'll always know in good time. This is exactly how that works.
Safety lines we never cross
Lightning & thunderstorms
Sessions stop immediately if lightning or thunder is present and restart no sooner than 30 minutes after the last strike or clap. If a storm is forecast for the session window, we cancel in advance.
Ice & frozen surfaces
Frozen or ice-covered 3G turf is a slip hazard and unplayable. Sessions are cancelled when the surface is frozen or freezing rain is falling.
Flooding & standing water
Heavy rain alone rarely stops us, but a waterlogged or flooded pitch is unsafe for sharp changes of direction — those sessions are cancelled.
Extreme heat
In high temperatures we follow FA guidance: extended drinks breaks, shaded rest periods and reduced intensity. Sessions are cancelled in genuinely extreme heat.
Severe wind & venue closure
Gusts strong enough to make goals, cones and play unsafe cancel a session — as does any closure of the venue itself.
How you'll find out
01 — The decision
We monitor the forecast and the surface on the day of every session. If conditions cross a safety line, the call is made as early as possible — normally by 3pm for evening sessions and at the latest one hour before the session starts.
02 — Email & calendar
The booking contact receives an email straight away, and the calendar invite on your booking is updated or cancelled so your phone reflects it automatically.
03 — WhatsApp follow-up
A WhatsApp message follows to make sure nothing sits unread in an inbox — please make sure your contact details are current on your booking.
04 — You never lose the session
Any session we cancel is rescheduled free of charge, or credited to your account for members and block holders. Weather cancellations never cost you a session.
Dressing for the conditions
- —Winter sessions: warm base layers, gloves and a waterproof jacket over training kit. Hats in freezing weather.
- —Summer sessions: light kit, sunscreen applied before arrival, and a full water bottle.
- —Always a water bottle, whatever the weather — hydration matters in the cold too.
- —If in doubt about conditions on the day, check your email and WhatsApp before leaving — the decision will always be communicated before travel.
The full risk assessment for each venue — including weather protocols — is documented and reviewed annually, and any incident is logged and followed up.
